The best way for me to keep my skin clear is to follow a few rules:
- Wash my face EVERY night before bed (and after a really sweaty workout)
- Avoid touching my face (this includes popping zits)
- Use products with glycolic or salicylic acid
- Wash my face EVERY night, oh did I say that already?
I’m repeating myself because it’s my number one clear skin rule. I hear from so many friends, etc that sometimes they are so tired they fall asleep and forget. One night isn’t going to hurt, but one night a week turns into two nights, then three, then your face is a train wreck and you suddenly stress out causing more breakouts. If you have the luxury of getting a facial as often as you can then that is awesome, but if you don’t please, please, PLEASE listen to me when I say, “WASH YOUR FACE BEFORE BED!”
The reason this is so important is because when your asleep your body finally gets the chance to work on the biggest organ of your body. Your SKIN! Your skin exfoliates through the night repairing itself and helping healthy skin to come through. If you have makeup on, all the dirt, oil, and environmental elements from the day clog your pores with acne causing bacteria creating breakouts. If your just too exhausted by then end of the day try an earlier routine and wash your face around 8 or 9.
This is the best piece of advice I can give you 🙂 I also wash my face with the Mia Clarasonic which has done WONDERS for my skin! I would recommend getting one if you can afford it.
